Painted and standing on its base, Brunhild's miniature fully shows its dynamic pose, which you already noticed in the concept art. This Nazi Meta-Human doesn't wield any weapons in battle because in the Wunderkammern she acquired prodigious strength, resistance to firearms, and the ability to fly.
Brunhild doesn't need any kind of armor to repel Allied fire: those metallic plates are purely decorative and are meant to create around her the image of Wagner's Valkyrie to fill soldier's hearts with fighting ardor. Here you can see her wearing the mask she typically dons in battle, but the miniature will come with a second head choice without helmet.

Colorata e imbasettata, la miniatura di Brunhild mostra in pieno la sua posa dinamica, come avevate visto già nella concept art. Questo Meta-Umano nazista non brandisce armi in battaglia perché nelle Wunderkammern ha acquisito una forza prodigiosa, resistenza alle armi da fuoco e la capacità di volare.
Brunhild non ha bisogno di alcun tipo di armatura per difendersi dai colpi degli Alleati: le piastre metalliche sono puramente decorative e contribuiscono a creare l'immagine della valchiria wagneriana per infondere ardore negli soldati. Qui la vedete indossare la maschera con cui tipicamente scende in battaglia, ma la miniatura sarà dotata anche di una seconda scelta per la testa, a capo scoperto.

Stepping on Ardennes' snowy fields, The Flag makes his appearance in full colors, quickly painted by our art director Wolfbane. This is the man that will lead Rangers into battle in the base set of War of Wonders.
In these pics you can see the many details of the miniature: from the iconic Stars and Stripes mask to the torch engraved on the buckle of the belt, the emblem of Project H.O.P.E., the scientific plan that helped Allies to fill the gap with Nazi Germany in the production of Meta-Humans. The Staff of Liberty, the weapon wielded by The Flag, already shines with energy ready to be shot at the enemy. Can't you hear it crackling?

Calpestando la neve delle Ardenne fa la su comparsa The Flag, che potete ammirare imbasettato e dipinto velocissimamente in occasione della fiera di Play di Modena dal nostro direttore artistico Alessio Cisbani, in arte Wolf bane. Ecco l'uomo che guiderà i Rangers in battaglia nel set base di War of Wonders.
In queste immagini potete già notare i numerosi dettagli: dall'iconica maschera a stelle e strisce alla borchia della cintura con la torcia, simbolo del Project H.O.P.E., il progetto scientifico che ha permesso agli Alleati di mettersi alla pari con la Germania nazista nella produzione di Meta-Umani.
La Staffa della Libertà, l'arma brandita da The Flag, già risplende di energia pronta ad essere scaricata sui nemici. Non sembra anche a voi di sentirne il crepitio?

You should already know our Meta-Humans, we talked about them a lot on this blog and we showed you the concept arts, but today you can see them in their full glory.
Premiered at Play, the game fair in Modena on April 11-12th, these are the first miniatures that will be released with War of Wonders Kickstarter: German Lab Prodigy Brunhild (with two head choices) and US Adventurer The Flag. They're 3D printed in white metal by Greebo Miniatures for Limana.
In the next days we'll show you the assembled miniatures painted by our art director Alessio Cisbani, alias Wolfbane.

The roaring sound of their engines is well known and feared by London citizens, because Rocket Gliders have been created by Third Reich to deliver death from the sky. Flying alongside the much heavier bombers, these fast one-crew aircrafts can dart among buildings, even at extremely low height, to bomb with exceptional accuracy their targets, like antiaircraft guns, removing any threat to German airplanes attacking England's capital city.
Only the best Luftwaffe pilots can aspire to fly them becoming part of the Poltergeists elite squad: wearing stuffed flying uniforms and aviator's full helmets with breathers, they drive their Rocket Gliders in daring dives or flyby on their targets, throwing explosive and incendiary grenades.
Rocket Gliders are an exceptional mean to dominate the sky and control the battlefield, delivering explosive attacks wherever necessary. Eyes on the sky! With the next Kickstaster you'll have the chance to seize this special troop for your Axis army!

Il ruggito dei loro motori è diventato tristemente noto ai cittadini londinesi, perché gli Alianti Razzo sono stati creati dal Terzo Reich per dispensare morte dal cielo. Affiancando i più pesanti bombardieri, questi veloci velivoli monoposto sono in grado di saettare tra gli edifici, anche a bassissima quota, e di colpire con estrema precisione i loro bersagli, come le batterie antiaeree, eliminando ogni minaccia per l'aviazione tedesca impegnata a bombardare la capitale inglese.
Solo i migliori piloti della Luftwaffe possono ambire a pilotarli, entrando nel corpo d'élite dei Poltergeist: indossando divise imbottite e caschi da aviatore integrali con respiratori, essi guidano gli Alianti Razzo in pericolose picchiate o a volo radente sopra i bersagli, sui quali fanno piovere granate esplosive e incendiarie.
Gli Alianti Razzo sono uno strumento prezioso per dominare i cieli e controllare il campo di gioco, intervenendo con attacchi esplosivi dove più necessario. Occhi al cielo allora, perché con il prossimo Kickstarter avrete la possibilità di aggiudicarvi anche questa truppa speciale per il vostro esercito dell'Asse!

As we work on War of Wonders Kickstarter campaign, we'd like to show you some of the stretch goals we're preparing.

We'll start with this guy here. Yes, it is exactly what it seems: a mechanized armor suit. USA developed these armors thanks to the genius of tycoon Howard Hughes and the innovative engine created by scientist Nikola Tesla, which makes use of Earth's magnetic field to generate propelling power.

Steel Armor pilots are chosen among the ranks of the Army and the Navy after a tough selection. Each armor is worth thousands of dollars, but it's money well spent for war, since they strengthen the pilot's physical prowess and allow him to carry heavy weapons without hindrance nor efforts. Thanks to the Tesla propeller, they're also able to fly: hence they have high mobility and can dominate the battlefield from above.

The Kickstarter will give the chance to add even these technological wonders to your army!

Mentre lavoriamo al Kickstarter per War of Wonders, vogliamo mostrarvi quello che vedrete negli stretch goals che stiamo preparando.

E vogliamo cominciare con questo bel tipo. Sì, è proprio quello che sembra: un'armatura meccanica motorizzata. Gli USA sono stati in grado di creare queste armature grazie al genio del magnate Howard Hughes e all'utilizzo del rivoluzionario motore dello scienziato Nikola Tesla, che fa uso del campo magnetico terrestre per generare forza propulsiva.

I piloti delle Steel Armors sono scelti tra i ranghi dell'Esercito e della Marina dopo una dura selezione. Ogni armatura costa migliaia di dollari, ma sono soldi ben spesi per la causa bellica, perché potenziano le caratteristiche fisiche del pilota e gli consentono di portare armi pesanti con facilità senza ostacolarne i movimenti. E grazie al repulsore Tesla sono anche in grado di alzarsi in volo, garantendo loro la massima mobilità e la possibilità di dominare il campo di battaglia dall'alto.

Il Kickstarter sarà l'occasione per aggiungere anche queste meraviglie tecnologiche al vostro esercito!

In the Ardennes forest, a team of US Rangers storms a German scientific base in which the infamous Dr. Nachtmahr is working on unholy experiments that will allow him to turn the bodies of dead soldiers in flesh and steel hybrids: mindless zombies eternally faithful to the Reich. The US soldiers are lead by the brave The Flag. The Allied Forces headquarters are expecting heavy resistance around the base and chose to support him with the Natural Prodigy Firefly and Steelbullet in his Grizzly armor.

To oppose them, the Nazi set a two-layer defense line around the strategic base: the Wehrmacht and a full squad of Arisches Korps lead by Brunhild along with the most dreadful German Meta-Humans: the monstrous Fenrir and the terrifying Todes Maske, who is able to summon the very flames of Hell thanks to his magical Crystal Skull.

Battle can't be avoided, and there will be no mercy. Who will win the War of Wonders?

This is the story behind the box art drawn by Yari Scarpelli and coloured by Ylenia Di Napoli, that we show you today in all its glory. You can feel the icy winds of the Ardennes as the snow starts to fall on the combatants caught in the heat of the battle; and spirals of thick, black smoke rise towards the night sky ablaze with fires and explosions.

The War of Wonders is coming. On which side will you stand?

Nella foresta delle Ardenne un manipolo di Ranger americani dà l'assalto a un centro scientifico tedesco nel quale il famigerato Dottor Nachtmahr sta mettendo a punto un sacrilego procedimento per trasformare i soldati caduti in battaglia in ibridi carne-macchina: zombie senza volontà per sempre asserviti al Reich. Gli americani sono guidati dal coraggioso The Flag, ma gli alti comandi si aspettano una massiccia resistenza, e affiancano anche il Prodigio Naturale Firefly e l'Uomo d'Acciaio Steelbullet.

Da parte sua il Reich, dato il valore strategico della base, ha predisposto una doppia linea di difesa, e oltre alla Wehrmacht ha schierato una squadra al completo di Arisches Korps comandata da Brunhild e dai più spaventosi Meta-Umani a propria disposizione: il mostruoso Fenrir e il terrificante Todes Maske, in grado di scatenare i fuochi stessi dell'Inferno grazie al suo magico Teschio di Cristallo.

Lo scontro è inevitabile e sarà senza quartiere. Chi vincerà la War of Wonders?

Ecco la storia dietro la box art realizzata da Yari Scarpelli e colorata da Ylenia di Napoli, che vi mostriamo oggi in tutta la sua gloria. Si respira già la fredda atmosfera delle Ardenne mentre la neve comincia a cadere proprio quando americani e tedeschi sono nel pieno dello scontro, e volute di fumo nero si alzano verso un cielo notturno infiammato dalla battaglia.

La War of Wonders sta arrivando, e tu da che parte ti schiererai?

The "Okinami" team is made of the best shinobi of the Empire of the Sun, but it can't go into battle without the support of valiant soldiers ready to sacrifice their lives for the glory of the Emperor.
So here we show you the dreadful Crimson Dragons: tough, hardened veterans of the Manchuria battles; now, after a hard special training, they're ready to be deployed in battle to aid Meta-Humans like Yashamaru.
This elite corp is equipped both with sperimental weapons (like the SMG Type II A or the shoulder-mounted grenade launcher Type 89) and traditional artifacts, like the Tenpo face masks reserved to NCOs and officers.

L' "Okinami" è formata dai più valenti shinobi dell'Impero del Sole, ma non può portare a termine le missioni più pericolose senza il supporto di valorosi soldati pronti a sacrificare la propria vita per l'Imperatore.
Ecco quindi entrare in campo i famigerati Dragoni Cremisi, soldati temprati dagli scontri in Manciuria e ora sottoposti a un addestamento speciale per poter degnamente combattere al fianco di Meta-Umani come  Yashamaru .
Questo corpo d'elite è equipaggiato sia con attrezzature sperimentali (come la pistola mitragliatrice Type II A o il lanciagranate da spalla Type 89) che con oggetti dell'antica tradizione dei Samurai, come le Tenpo, armature facciali riservate solo ai sottufficiali e agli ufficiali.

What if we tell you that in War of Wonders you'll find more than just Nazis and Americans?
War of Wonders has a vast setting, encompassing the whole WW II and the main countries that fought it. Among the first additional armies that will be unlocked during the incoming crowdfunding campaign, will be the Japanese forces of the Okinami (Giant wave), and we're going to present you one of their most prominent representatives: Yashamaru.
Yashamaru is a shinobi from the Village of Water, master of the esoteric combat techniques and japanese martial arts. He's not only a fearful opponent in hand to hand combat thanks to his prowess with the katana, but he's also able to control and create water by condensing atmospheric moisture and turning it into fog, ice shurikens and even clones of himself. That's why fighting Yashamaru will be as hard as fighting against four opponents at once!

E se vi dicessimo che in War of Wonders non si combatteranno soltanto nazisti e americani? L'ambientazione di War of Wonders è molta ampia, e abbraccia tutta la Seconda Guerra Mondiale includendo le forze delle principali nazioni che la combatterono. Una delle prime fazioni aggiuntive che verranno sbloccate durante il crowdfunding di prossima partenza sarà quella giapponese dell'Okinami (Onda gigante), di cui vi presentiamo il suo più degno rappresentante: Yashamaru.
Yashamaru è uno shinobi del Villaggio dell'Acqua, maestro delle tecniche esoteriche e delle arti marziali giapponesi. Oltre a essere un temibilissimo avversario in corpo a corpo grazie alla grande maestria con la katana, Yashamaru è in grado di controllare e creare l'acqua addensando l'umidità atmosferica e trasformandola a piacimento in nebbia, shuriken di ghiaccio e persino copie di se stesso. Per questo combatterlo sarà duro come affrontare quattro nemici contemporaneamente.

Well, yes, "Allied attack" could be the title of this picture (the second half of our cover): we know, it's still black and white, but trust us, we'll show you soon the full color VERY soon...
In the meanwhile let's learn something more about the characters on that pic.
The main character is The Flag. In War of Wonders world The Flag is the equivalent of Marvel's Captain America: so the perfect soldier, corageous, patriotic, brave and so on. Got it? Ok.
Those GIs around him are part of a Ranger squad. Sometimes you'll see them side by side with The Flag against the Nazis: they're not Meta-Humans but they have enough guts to follow him in his deadly secret missions.
The bulky guy on the right is Steel Bullet wearing his armor suit called "Grizzly". He's a tough opponent even for the creepy Nazi Meta-Human werewolf, Fenrir.
In the background we have Firefly: he's a Pyro, a guy who can control fire and flames as easy as breathing...
